It’s hard to get up from a couch sometimes. Especially a really big, soft, cushion-y one. Sometimes, I have to adjust a bunch of times in order to stand up from a couch.
Doing the following will make that activity easier. When you are going to stand up, be it from a chair or couch, try this…
Scoot your butt to the edge of the couch or as close as you can get. Bring your feet back, try to get them under your hips and spread them apart . Then, lean forward with your upper body as much as you can. Next, use your arm/arms to help push yourself up.
This shifts the center of gravity of your body forward and makes it much easier to manipulate body position.
